Island Livin’ is an album formatted in what we call Calypso Rock. The only album of it’s genre. Unlike reggae this album is mainly 4/4 time, although it does have a few songs in 2/4 time such as “Barracuda”. The music’s history follows the life of the Artist, Robert McIntosh who was born in England, but raised in the Bahamas and after graduating college (University of Florida), moved down to the Keys where he developed a truly unique style of music. This album paints a picture in the mind’s eye of the islands and beaches of the Caribbean. The music, the lead guitar, and the harmony is all put together to transcends reality and take you on a tropical vacation. That is what this music is about.
